Coventry Local Safeguarding Children Board Procedures Manual

Reporting Concerns and Thresholds

AMENDMENT

In December 2016, this information was extensively updated and should be re-read throughout.

If you are concerned about a child's welfare or worried they are being abused, the preferred referral mechanism for professionals is via the ‘Multi-Agency Referral Form’. The form can be completed directly on the City Council’s webpage and then be submitted online. It is user-friendly, will save time, and is fully secure.

The form is available on the City Council website.

You can also contact Coventry City Council’s Children’s Services Initial Contact Service via telephone or email:

Telephone: 02476 788555
Secure email: RAS@coventry.gcsx.gov.uk

For requests for information, contact the social care Initial Contact Service on the telephone number above.

If you are unsure the Coventry Local Safeguarding Board Procedures Manual will also be able to help guide you or the The levels of intervention for children (Thresholds of intervention guide) which tells you which types of services a family may need to get support.

Alternatively you can call ChildLine for advice on 0800 1111 or email them by visiting www.childline.org.uk.
